Requirements for Admission to the University include:
· California residents must meet the following requirements to qualify as an upper-division transfer student: Completion of at least 60 transferable semester units with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.0*
· Non-California residents must have a GPA of 2.4 or higher. Students are urged to apply for certification of their general education units before transferring*
· “Basic Four” requirements: Speech, English Composition, College Level Math, and Critical Thinking (contact Nursing Department for exception admissions)
Requirements for Admission to the Bachelor Program in the Department of Nursing include:
· An Associate degree or its equivalent in nursing from an accredited institution
· Completion of college level courses in the following areas with a grade of C or better:
Anatomy and Physiology, with lab
General Chemistry, with lab
Microbiology, with lab
Psychology
Sociology or Anthropology
· Current California RN license or be eligible to obtain one**
· Professional liability insurance (for lab/clinical courses)
· Current CPR card
· Current medical clearance (PPD or chest x-ray; MMR titer; Hepatitis B titer; Varicella titer)
· Current California driver’s license
· Current automobile insurance
